History of Iraq War

Basically the Iraq War started in 2003 when President Bush announced that Saddam had 2 days to flee the country. When Saddam did not flee U.S. soldiers started to invade Iraq. U.S. forces have been there ever since. There has also been billions of billions of dollars spent towards funding this war. Even after we captured Saddam and Bush said the war was won. Since then however many years have been spent over there with thousands of U.S. citizens killed,  along with hundreds of thousands of Iraqi people. To most people it seems as if this war is completely pointless. This is the position that both Hillary Clinton and Obama have towards this war. John McCain on the other hand believes that this war must continue.

The Iraq War

For this new quarter of AoD I have decided to write my blog about the War in Iraq. Since this is both in the past and in current history I feel that the best way for me to do this topic is to simply do a timeline of past events in the war and then move up to today. I will also talk about the new policies that could happen around this war.

The reason I chose this topic was because this war is one that I feel never should have happened and that it is simply a waste of time, lives, resources, and money for this almost pointless war to happen. Over researching this more however I will find more information about this topic and also relate it more the the AoD work we have done.

To be more specific I have decided to address the President candidates and their views on the Iraq War, and what they will do in order to try and stop it or keep it going. I am going to look at John McCain, Obama, and Clinton.
